TRB has been manufacturing paddle gates using lightweight honeycomb core structure for the London Tube Stations for many years. In the last two years TRB has been commissioned to produce a new, lighter paddle gate in carbon fibre with an aluminium honeycomb core for the stations, this product is now in testing.
TRB’s sustainable, ‘green’ composite material option for carriage door leaves delivers up to a 35% weight saving, has a 40 year life cycle expectancy, is more robust than its aluminium equivalent, has superior fatigue resistance and low maintenance costs.
Due to the significant weight reduction, the composite door leaf requires a less heavy duty door operating system and provides a number of cost saving benefits to rail operators, such as: reduced energy consumption per journey; less track wear and tear.

We have manufactured the majority of the UK’s Detrainment Systems currently employed on UK Rolling Stock. Including Class 378 106 Detrainment Systems, VLU (Victoria Line Upgrade) 94 Detrainment Systems, S Stock 320 Detrainment Systems, SSL M 380 M Doors for Sub Surface (SSL). In-house test rigs can accommodate all types of testing from load to simulated evacuation tests.
Decorative or functional, TRB is able to advise on materials, finishes and fitting for internal partitions. Partitions can be painted or fitted with FR grade HPL.
