RAIL: COMPOSITE TABLES
One area TRB and its partners are working on is the provision of lightweight cantilever crashworthy tables.
According to recent research, over the next seven years (based on current data) there is an expected requirement for £304,457,000.00 worth of tables to be manufactured across the globe.
There are growing demands on the rail industry to produce vehicles that are not only lighter but are easy to maintain and are innovative.
Our current design utilises a bespoke “energy absorbing” system tested to the crashworthy requirements of GM/RT 2100 rev 5 and APTA as designed by our partner company Seisenbacher.
This system is mounted under a bespoke table top manufactured from EN45545-HL3 compliant materials.
THE TABLE TOPS CAN BE DESIGNED TO ACCEPT TECHNOLOGY SUCH AS:
Edges can be finished using materials ranging from aluminium extrusions and moulded Corian or Polyurethane.
The top surfaces can also be finished in any number of materials.
