TRB Lightweight Structures have secured the contract to supply 110 Electrical Cabinets worth an estimated £2.5m for Hitachi Rail Europe’s Class 800/801 Intercity Express Programme.
Building on their success in manufacturing the bike storage unit for the Class 800/801 IEP TRB will manufacture the cabinets at their Huntingdon base, delivering the assembled kit of parts to Hitachi’s UK facility in Newton Aycliffe.
The first electrical cabinet will be delivered in May with a production schedule of 1 train set per week till completion.
